Rockwood Read and Seed Summertime Stories
The Rockwood Read and Seed Summertime Stories will be a part of the FREE Summer LUNCH Food Service Program (SFSP) sites starting in July. Storytellers and puppeteers will be on hand to entertain and encourage reading over the summer break.     Click here for dates and times.
Back-to-School Fair
The BACK TO SCHOOL FAIR, hosted by community agencies and Rockwood Weed and Seed is: Thursday August 23, 2007 from 3:00 – 7:00 pm., location TBA. Participants can PRE-REGISTER with a local social service agency starting July 1. Eligibility requirements and registration materials are available at the Rockwood Community Office at 18709 SE Stark St.
The Imaginative Children’s Garden at Vance Park
Reading in the ‘Round
People for Parks is excited to present Reading in the ‘Round, a weekly summer storytime in the Imaginative Children’s Garden located in Vance Park in Rockwood. Beginning July 5, join with other families every Thursday from 3:00 – 3:45 pm in the garden for storytelling, multi-lingual book give-aways, and more.
Butterfly Pavilion
Also, don’t miss the Butterfly Pavilion where you can watch Monarchs and Painted Ladies emerge from their chrysalis stage. Learn about butterfly life cycles and come back often to visit as they mature into adults. Children must be accompanied by an adult or older sibling at least 14 years of age.

$50 full year; $25 if qualified for free/reduced lunch.
On site programs & field trips including arts & crafts, sports, reading clubs & games room.

Morning Camp
July 9-August 17      7:30am-10:30am
$25/wk plus one-time membership registration fee of $50 to become a year long member. Provides breakfast and educational enrichment!
National Youth Sports Program at Portland State University
July 5-27, 2007      Ages 10-16
$25 registration fee, camp is free
Provides sports instruction in more that 10 different sports!
Interactive educational sessions/drug education
Breakfast and lunch provided
