  • Weed & Seed is a community-based strategy sponsored by the Department of Justice that is an innovative, comprehensive multiagency approach to law enforcement, crime prevention, and community revitalization.

    Molalla Weed & Seed site boundaries follow those of the Molalla River School District.

    The Molalla Weed & Seed project addresses the following strategic areas:

    • Law Enforcement - targeted drug missions, county task force efforts, overserving and underage drinking targeted missions.
    • Community Policing - implement Neighborhood Watch programs, community education, and presence at community events.
    • Prevention/Intervention/Treatment - enhance safe haven programs, prevention programs, and intervention & treatment services. Expand re-entry efforts and transitional services within the Molalla Weed & Seed site.
    • Neighborhood Restoration - ncrease code enforcement efforts, community-wide clean-ups, create opportunities for neighbors to get to know each other, and support for community events.
    • Latino Youth & Family Services - mobilizing and engaging the adult and youth Latino community in local activities and events.
