Overview
Cascade Locks is located 45 miles east of Portland in the heart of the Columbia River Gorge. The Columbia River to the north and the Cascade Mountain range to the south border the town. It is part of, and located at the far west end of, Hood River County.
Some problems have risen because of the geographic isolation coupled with easy access to the town. The Cascade Locks Weed and Seed Strategy consists of community policing, economic development, youth prevention and intervention programs, and increasing law enforcement presence and participation. Through this five-year strategic plan we hope to create a more livable and pleasant environment for all who live in Cascade Locks and the numerous visitors.
